FEATURED ORGANIZATION

Virginia Mediation Network

The Virginia Mediation Network (VMN) is the voice for professional mediators in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VMN is a multicultural organization whose mission is to promote public understanding of conflict resolution services and provide its members with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills and a community to enhance their professional success. VMN envisions a Commonwealth where people choose peaceful ways to resolve conflict assisted by conflict resolution professionals who practice strong ethical values and deliver the highest quality services. VMN organizes professional conferences each year which include in-person meetings along with online webinars. This year’s annual Fall conference will be held September 9-10, 2017 at the University of Richmond School of Law. The Network also promotes mediation through the work of its committees such as its Legislative Committee which, in 2016, worked collaboratively with state mediators and the Virginia Association for Community Conflict Resolution to pass mediator compensation legislation which increased fees paid for court-referred family mediation cases.  VMN also provides a searchable database of its members – “Find a Mediator”.

INTRODUCING LITIGIOUS AND CEDRIC!

“Litigious”

Litigious is an angry dragon who loves to see people fight. He likes to sound off with bad advice based upon some of the commonly held, but mistaken, public perceptions about the divorce process.

“Cedric”

Cedric is a sensible owl. He thinks that Litigious is a silly dragon who gives out lots of bad advice. Whenever he hears another outburst from Litigious, he’s eager to set people straight.
